Chiara
Sophia Coyle was born in New York and at a young age moved to the
island of Mykonos, Greece where she grew up surrounded by the unique
and versatile beauty of the Aegean. She moved to the United States
in 1993 and after living in Arizona & Florida for a few years
she settled in Northern California with her daughter Anoushka.
Photography was always a favorite hobby but it was not until 2000
that it began to develop into a direction in life for Chiara Sophia.
Following numerous classes focusing on various aspects and approaches
to photography she found her niche in emulsion transfers, a unique
technique which allows for images to be transferred from Polaroid
film to a variation of media.
Chiara Sophia’s current body of work represents images from
Greece, which is always home in her heart.
